Value and features

Electric Bike Review scored the 500 W XP4 90 out of 100 and framed it as a bike with premium features at a $999 price point. Its reviewer praised the stiffer redesigned aluminum frame, the upright riding position, the colour display with USB-C charging, the upgraded 8-speed drivetrain, the hydraulic brakes and the smoothness of the torque sensor. Electric Bike Report likewise pointed to the torque sensor, turn signals, colour display and quick-release pedals as uncommon at this price, and recorded a 15 ft 3 in braking distance that it described as the best it had tested.

Range: three very different answers

Electric Bike Review reported 44 miles of real-world range. Electric Bike Report measured 30.2 miles at high assist and 55.1 miles at low assist. OutdoorGearLab, which measures range with a throttle-only method, recorded 19.1 miles and scored the bike low on range. These figures do not contradict each other: high assist and throttle use drain a 500 Wh pack far faster than low assist, so the honest reading is that Lectric’s 50-mile claim is reachable with light assist and easy terrain, and a fraction of that is normal if you lean on power.

Hills and power

OutdoorGearLab reported an average of 13.6 mph on a 9 percent grade, said the bike struggles above roughly 8 percent grades, and noted a jerky throttle. It ranked the bike 16th of 19 e-bikes in its test group, with an overall score of 71 out of 100, while still calling it excellent value. Electric Bike Report said hill climbing lags slightly behind heavier competitors. If you live in a hilly area, this is the trade-off to weigh.

Weight and folding

Reviewers weighed the bike with the battery installed: Electric Bike Review 70.7 lb, OutdoorGearLab 68.5 lb, Electric Bike Report about 72 lb. Lectric’s own figure is 62 lb without the battery, so the numbers are plausibly consistent once the battery is added. Electric Bike Review reported that the bike folds in 15–20 seconds; it and Electric Bike Report both noted that paint can scuff where frame parts touch when folded.
